My name is Laura Burns. Here At Table, we talk about the practice and craft of hospitality and the art of welcome from ancient times to today. 

I believe that hospitality is central to what makes us human. It binds us through culture and community, and through individual interactions every single day. With hospitality, we connect and we thrive. Without hospitality, we disconnect and we suffer.

My background ranges from culinary experience as a cook and cooking instructor, to media work in documentary film and television production, to leadership development roles in Fortune 500 high tech companies.

I’m thrilled to be devoting myself now to learning and writing about hospitality, and contributing to the conversation through this website and blog.
